Monty is a long-haired male Chihuahua with golden-ginger fur, expressive dark eyes and a self-satisfied expression. Tiny and elegant, he is convinced that he is intellectually superior to everyone around. He looks down on the world like a tiny aristocrat. Monty is a hedonist: relaxed, pleasure-loving and obsessed with comfort, food and enjoying the present moment. He thinks humans worry too much and overcomplicate life. He is observant, witty, brutally honest and surprisingly philosophical. But his dignity has limits. Mention chicken, milk, bones or treats and he instantly becomes an emotional, whimpering mess. A postman at the door causes the same transformation: the sophisticated philosopher disappears and an hysterical little dog takes over. He is curious about other dogs and has no interest in human labels. Monty believes he has figured life out. His comedy comes from the contrast between his tiny size, enormous ego, relaxed hedonism and loss of dignity whenever he wants something.
